USA SHIPPING RESTORED — LATESTOn 30th July 2025 the United States Government announced a new Executive Order which outlined significant changes to customs obligations and processes for goods being imported into the USA from 29th August 2025.
On 25th August, all shipping services to the USA were withdrawn in the UK.
Services will be restored shortly – and we will begin sending via a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service, for your convenience. Due to the Executive Order, your purchases are of course now subject to a 10% Tariff.
⚫️ If you placed an order on or before 24th August, your order has already shipped and remains unaffected.
⚫️ If you placed an order on or after 25th August, we’ve had to wait until services had been reinstated by carriers, but we can now confirm that your order will be despatched on or before Friday 5th September. Your order will also be sent using Royal Mail’s DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service at our expense. This means we’ll pay the 10% Tariff as well as cover the processing fee — as a gesture of goodwill for your patience.
⚫️ On 2nd September we stopped accepting orders going to the USA until a full solution was rolled out by carriers, and we could implement it to our website.
⚫️ As of 4th September, we’ve re-enabled USA shipping and you may now place new orders. Any orders placed as of now will of course be subject a 10% Tariff + a £3 Processing fee. We will display & collect this amount from you at Checkout and then pay it to US authorities on your behalf. This means when your order reaches the US, you’ll have nothing more to pay. This will help speed up transit times & also save you money (usually carriers will charge a processing fee of anywhere up to £18 — whereas we only charge £3 to cover our costs). The 10% Tariff of course is unavoidable.
⚫️ We have also started to rollout new international shipping rates. If you’re in the US, you’ll be pleased to know that we’re lowering shipping prices – and you have access to these lower prices already. Details here
KEY POINTS OF THE US EXECUTIVE ORDER
When shipping goods to the USA, the following will apply as of 29th August 2025:
- The duty-free threshold (‘de minimis’) of $800 will be removed and replaced by tariffs (duties), which must be paid to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- For goods shipped via the international postal system, customs duties will be calculated using the value of the item/s and the prevailing country based (IEEPA) tariff for the item/s, depending on their country of origin (country of manufacture, not shipping).
In layman’s terms: If you’re buying goods from outside the USA, your purchase will now be subject to Tariffs.
For goods purchased from the UK the tariff is currently set at 10%. There will also usually be a processing/handling fee payable to the shipping company, for processing your shipment through Customs.
USA SHIPMENTS ON HOLD
On Tuesday 26th Aug, carriers withdrew all shipping services to the USA without notice, meaning our hands are now tied until services are reinstated. As a result, shipping to the US is currently On Hold until carriers update their systems and release a solution.
Shipping companies have since been working intensively, including with the US authorities and international partners to adapt to these changes, which affect everyone sending goods to the USA.
Our main shipping partners (Royal Mail) have started to roll out a solution (in an industry first), but this is currently not available to all customers. We believe this will be rectified sometime this week (week commencing 1st September).
UPCOMING CHANGES TO USA SHIPPING
As of 29th Aug 2025, goods imported to the USA from the UK will be subject to a 10% tariff applied by US Customs, as well as there being an additional ‘Handling/Processing fee’ to cover Customs clearance. In our experience of shipping globally, the Handling fee itself can vary (but is usually between £7.50-£15 per shipment). This also means a longer wait for your parcel to arrive at your door.
WHAT WE’RE DOING TO ADDRESS THIS
We are currently working on a solution that will allow us to collect the 10% Tariff from you at Checkout, together with a fee of around £3 per order, and then pay the Duty direct to US Customs on your behalf.
This means when your shipment reaches the US, there’s nothing more for you to pay, and your order will be able to sail straight through.
We’ve got this setup on our side already, but are now waiting for our carrier to reinstate the shipping service on their end. We aim to have this fully up & running sometime week commencing Mon 1st Sep.
